Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti or linguine

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

8 oz smoked sausage, sliced (kielbasa or andouille)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest. Set aside.

Sauté Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced sausage and sauté until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Cook Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook until the shrimp turns pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside with the sausage.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter. Once melted, add the chicken broth, heavy cream, cherry tomatoes, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Combine Ingredients: Return the shrimp and sausage to the skillet. Add the cooked pasta, tossing to combine. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish. Serve warm and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
