10-Min Overnight Oats Meal Prep

10-Min Overnight Oats Meal Prep

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian, Gluten-Free

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (do not use instant or steel-cut)
  • 2 cups milk of choice (almond, oat, soy, or dairy)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vegan yogurt)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2–3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: Fresh berries, sliced bananas, nut butter, or nuts

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together to ensure the cinnamon and seeds are evenly distributed. Next, pour in the milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Use a large spoon or spatula to stir everything together until the mixture is well-combined and there are no dry pockets of oats remaining.
  2. Line up four 12-ounce or 16-ounce mason jars or airtight containers on your counter. Carefully divide the oat mixture evenly among the jars. If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can add an extra splash of milk to each jar now. Leave about an inch of space at the top of the jars to allow room for toppings later. Seal the lids tightly.
  3. Place the jars in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, though overnight (6-8 hours) is ideal for the best texture. During this time, the oats and chia seeds absorb the liquid and soften. When you are ready to eat, give the oats a quick stir. Add your favorite fresh toppings like fruit, nuts, or a drizzle of peanut butter right before serving to maintain their crunch and freshness.
