3 Ingredient Dump And Bake French Toast With Maple Syrup Easy

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf (approx. 14-16 oz) Brioche or Challah bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup (plus extra for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking. Cut your loaf of bread into uniform 1-inch cubes. If the bread is very fresh, you can lightly toast the cubes in the oven for 5 minutes to dry them out, though this is optional. Spread the bread cubes evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, crack the 8 eggs and whisk them vigorously until the yolks and whites are fully combined. Pour in the 1 cup of maple syrup and whisk again until the mixture is smooth. Pour the egg and syrup mixture evenly over the bread cubes in the baking dish. Use a spatula to gently press down on the bread to ensure every piece is coated. Place the dish in the center rack of the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. The French toast is done when the top is golden brown and the center is set and no longer liquid.
  3. Remove the baking dish from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the custard to firm up slightly for easier serving. Scoop large portions onto individual plates. Drizzle with additional warm maple syrup if desired. Serve immediately while the center is warm and the edges are slightly crisp.
