Ingredients
Scale
- 3 tablespoons black or white chia seeds
- 1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla or chocolate whey or plant-based protein powder
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or stevia (optional)
- A pinch of sea salt
- Toppings: Fresh berries, a sprinkle of hemp seeds, or a dollop of almond butter
Instructions
- In a mason jar or a small glass bowl, add the chia seeds and your chosen protein powder. Use a small whisk or a fork to stir them together until the powder is evenly distributed among the seeds. This prevents the protein powder from clumping once you add the liquid.
- Pour the almond milk and vanilla extract into the jar. If you prefer a sweeter pudding, add your maple syrup or stevia now. Add a tiny pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavors. Stir vigorously for at least one minute. Ensure no protein powder is stuck to the bottom edges of the jar.
- Tighten the lid on your jar and give it a hard shake for 30 seconds. Let it sit on the counter for 5 minutes, then give it one final shake or stir to break up any chia clumps that have formed. Place the jar in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, though overnight is best for the thickest consistency. When ready to eat, add your favorite fresh toppings and enjoy!
