Air Fryer Asparagus Healthy Easy Fast Crispy Golden

Air Fryer Asparagus Healthy Easy Fast Crispy Golden

  • Total Time: 13 minutes
  • Diet: Keto, Vegan

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, woody ends trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 fresh lemon (for juicing)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Start by washing your asparagus under cool running water. Pat the spears thoroughly dry with a clean kitchen towel; moisture is the enemy of crispiness. Snap off the woody, fibrous bottom inch of each spear or use a knife to trim them evenly. Place the trimmed asparagus into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the top. Use your hands or tongs to toss the spears until every inch is evenly coated in oil and seasoning.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes. Arrange the seasoned asparagus in the air fryer basket in a single layer. If your basket is small, work in batches to avoid overcrowding. Slide the basket in and cook for 7 to 9 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, give the basket a good shake to ensure the spears brown evenly on all sides. The asparagus is done when the tips are slightly charred and the stalks are tender-crisp when pierced with a fork.
  3. Carefully remove the asparagus from the basket using tongs. Transfer the spears to a serving platter. Immediately squeeze the fresh lemon juice over the hot asparagus to brighten the flavors. If you are using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it on now so it melts slightly against the heat of the vegetables. Serve immediately while the texture is at its peak crispiness.
