Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced into 1-inch strips or bite-sized pieces)
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- Optional: 2 cups of broccoli florets or sliced bell peppers
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels to ensure the best possible crispiness. Cut the chicken into uniform strips or chunks so they cook evenly. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces (and vegetables if using) with the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Toss everything thoroughly until the chicken is completely coated in the spice blend. Let it sit for 5 minutes if you have time to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes. Place the seasoned chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; if necessary, cook in two batches to ensure the air can circulate freely around each piece. Set the timer for 12 to 15 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, shake the basket or use tongs to flip the pieces. This ensures an even, golden-brown crust on all sides. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Once the chicken is done, remove it from the air fryer immediately to prevent overcooking. Let the meat rest for 2 to 3 minutes; this allows the juices to redistribute, making every bite succulent. Transfer the chicken to a plate alongside your favorite healthy sides, like a fresh green salad or roasted cauliflower. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice for a bright, finishing touch.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
