Ingredients
Scale
- 2 Fresh salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh lemon wedges for serving
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Start by patting the salmon fillets completely dry with a paper towel. This is the secret to getting that golden, crispy exterior. Drizzle the olive oil over the fillets, ensuring all sides are lightly coated. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and oregano. Rub this spice blend generously over the top and sides of the salmon. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes to ensure it is hot before the fish goes in.
- Place the seasoned salmon fillets into the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching so the air can circulate freely. Position them skin-side down. Slide the basket in and cook at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes. The exact time depends on the thickness of your fillets. At the 8-minute mark, check for doneness; the salmon should flake easily with a fork and reach an internal temperature of 145°F. The top should look golden and slightly charred from the spices.
- Carefully remove the salmon from the basket using a wide spatula to keep the fillets intact. Place them on a serving plate and let them rest for two minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring every bite is moist. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side. The bright citrus juice cuts through the richness of the salmon perfectly, completing your fast and healthy dinner.
