Ingredients
Scale
- 2 fresh salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh lemon wedges for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by patting the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture is the secret to achieving that crispy golden exterior. Place the fillets on a plate and drizzle them with olive oil. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning blend evenly over the top and sides of the salmon, ensuring every inch is coated for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 2 minutes. Place the seasoned salmon fillets into the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch. This allows the hot air to circulate freely around each piece. Cook the salmon for 8 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. At the 8-minute mark, check for doneness; the fish should flake easily with a fork and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Carefully remove the salmon from the basket using a spatula. Transfer the fillets to a serving plate and let them rest for two minutes to lock in the juices. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top to brighten the flavors and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately while the skin is still crispy and the meat is perfectly flaky.
