Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large Russet potatoes (peeled and cut into 1/4-inch strips)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil spray
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by soaking your cut potato strips in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This removes excess starch and ensures your fries become extra crispy. After soaking, drain the water and pat the potatoes completely dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Excess moisture is the enemy of crispiness. Once dry, place the potatoes in a large bowl and toss them with the oil, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until every piece is evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Place the seasoned potatoes into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure proper airflow. Set the timer for 15 minutes. Halfway through the cooking process, remove the basket and give it a good shake to redistribute the fries. This helps them achieve that signature golden color on all sides. Continue cooking until they reach your desired level of crunch.
- Once the fries are golden and crispy, remove them from the air fryer immediately. Transfer them to a serving plate or a bowl lined with parchment paper. Taste and add an extra pinch of salt if needed while they are still hot. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces like spicy mayo, organic ketchup, or a tangy garlic aioli.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
