Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Chicken wings (split into flats and drums)
- 2 cups Broccoli florets and sliced carrots
- 1 large Sweet potato, sliced into wedges
- 1 tbsp Olive oil or avocado oil spray
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 Apples, sliced (for the dessert portion)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon and 1 tsp Maple syrup
Instructions
- Start by patting the chicken wings and vegetables completely dry with paper towels. Moisture is the enemy of crispiness. In a large bowl, toss the wings with half the oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, toss your vegetables with the remaining oil and a pinch of salt. For the dessert apples, keep them separate and toss with cinnamon and maple syrup just before they go into the fryer.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the chicken wings in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Cook for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Once the wings are nearly done, add the vegetables around the edges or cook them in a separate batch for 8-10 minutes until they are tender and the edges are charred and crispy. For the dessert, air fry the seasoned apple slices at 375°F for 5-7 minutes until soft and caramelized.
- Transfer the golden-brown wings and crispy vegetables to a large platter. Serve the wings with your favorite dipping sauce, such as buffalo or ranch. Arrange the crispy vegetables as a healthy side. Finish the meal by serving the warm cinnamon apples with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a small scoop of vanilla ice cream for a perfect, fast dessert.
