Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings (flats and drumettes separated)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free is best)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup high-quality teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra shine)
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons sliced green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by patting the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. Place the dried wings in a large mixing bowl. In a small ramekin, whisk together the baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle this mixture over the wings and toss them thoroughly until every wing is evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with a high-smoke point oil spray. Arrange the wings in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching or overlapping. Cook the wings for 20 minutes, flipping them or shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
- While the wings cook, warm the teriyaki sauce and honey in a small saucepan over low heat until thin and bubbly. Once the wings are done, transfer them to a clean bowl and pour the warm sauce over them. Toss gently until every wing is glazed. Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish immediately with toasted sesame seeds and fresh green onions.
- Cook Time: 30 minutes
