Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15.25 oz) Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
- 2 cans (approx. 15 oz each) Chocolate Fudge Pudding (Ready-to-eat)
- 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a thin layer of butter. This ensures that the gooey fudge bottom does not stick to the pan when you serve it. Set the dish aside while you gather your three ingredients.
- Open both cans of chocolate fudge pudding and spread them evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish using a spatula. Next, sprinkle the dry chocolate fudge cake mix evenly over the top of the pudding. Do not stir the layers; the moisture from the pudding will hydrate the cake mix as it bakes. Finally, sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips across the top of the cake mix layer.
- Place the baking dish in the center rack of your oven. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the center looks set but slightly soft. Remove the cake from the oven and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before serving. This cooling period allows the fudge layer to thicken slightly so it doesn’t run all over the plate.
