Cottage Cheese Mousse High Protein 30g+ Easy Meal Prep Low Carb

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Diet: Low-carb, High-protein

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup low-fat or fat-free cottage cheese
  • 1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla or chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional, for chocolate flavor)
  • 1–2 tablespoons granulated monk fruit or stevia (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened almond milk (if needed for blending)
  • Optional toppings: Fresh berries, sugar-free chocolate chips, or crushed nuts

Instructions

  1. Place the cottage cheese, protein powder, sweetener, and vanilla extract into a high-speed blender or food processor. If you are making a chocolate version, add your cocoa powder now. Adding the dry ingredients on top of the cheese helps prevent the powder from sticking to the bottom of the blades.
  2. Blend the mixture on high for about 45 to 60 seconds. You want to completely eliminate the curds of the cottage cheese. If the mixture seems too thick or the blender is struggling, add the almond milk one teaspoon at a time until it reaches a smooth, mousse-like consistency. Stop and scrape down the sides once to ensure every bit is incorporated.
  3. Transfer the mousse into a small bowl or a glass jar. While you can eat it immediately, the texture improves significantly if you let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This allows the protein powder to fully hydrate and the mousse to set. Top with your favorite low-carb garnishes like fresh raspberries or a sprinkle of sea salt before serving.
