Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese (small curd works best)
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
- 1/2 frozen banana (for extra creaminess)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or skim milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and place them near your high-speed blender. Start by pouring the liquid base, such as almond milk, into the blender jar first. Adding liquids first helps the blades spin freely and prevents the frozen fruit from getting stuck at the bottom.
- Add the cottage cheese, frozen berries, banana, chia seeds, and sweetener to the blender. Secure the lid tightly. Start the blender on a low speed to break up the frozen fruit, then gradually increase to high. Process the mixture for 45 to 60 seconds until the cottage cheese curds completely disappear and the texture looks silky and uniform.
- Pour the thick smoothie into a tall glass. If you prefer a “smoothie bowl” consistency, use slightly less milk. Top with a few fresh berries, a sprinkle of granola, or extra chia seeds for a bit of crunch. Enjoy immediately while cold for the best flavor and consistency.
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
