Ingredients
Scale
- 8 Mini pizza crusts or English muffin halves
- 1 cup Marinara or pizza sauce
- 8 Slices of Mozzarella cheese (thickly sliced works best)
- 1/4 cup Sliced black olives (chopped into small “eyes”)
- 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
- Optional: Pepperoni slices for a “bloody” background
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and make cleanup a breeze. Arrange your mini pizza crusts or English muffin halves on the sheet with a little space between each one. If using English muffins, toast them slightly in the oven for 2 minutes before adding toppings to ensure they stay crunchy.
- While the oven warms up, take your mozzarella slices and use a small paring knife or a ghost-shaped cookie cutter to create ghost silhouettes. Do not worry about making them perfect; irregular shapes actually look more like “floating” ghosts. If you are using a knife, simply cut a wavy bottom and a rounded top. Set the scraps aside to snack on or melt into the sauce later.
- Spread about 1 to 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce onto each crust. Sprinkle a pinch of oregano over the sauce for extra flavor. Place one cheese ghost in the center of each pizza. Slide the tray into the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese has just begun to melt. Be careful not to over-bake, or your ghosts will lose their shape and turn into blobs! Remove from the oven and immediately place two tiny olive pieces on each ghost to create the eyes.
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
