Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ frozen bananas (peeled and sliced before freezing)
- 1 scoop (30g) chocolate whey or plant-based protein powder
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (for extra richness)
- ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt or silken tofu (for creaminess)
- 2–3 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk (add sparingly)
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- Toppings: 1/4 cup healthy low-sugar granola, fresh strawberries, and a drizzle of almond butter.
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Base
Place your frozen banana slices into a high-powered blender or food processor. If you are watching your sugar intake, you can swap half of the banana for ½ cup of frozen steamed cauliflower rice; it adds bulk and creaminess without any vegetable taste. - Step 2: Combine and Blend
Add the protein powder, cocoa powder, Greek yogurt, and chia seeds to the blender. Pour in only 2 tablespoons of almond milk to start. Use the tamper tool of your blender to push the ingredients down toward the blades. Blend on low speed, gradually increasing, until the mixture is completely smooth and looks like thick soft-serve. Avoid adding too much liquid, as this will turn the bowl into a liquid smoothie. - Step 3: Assemble and Garnish
Scoop the thick chocolate mixture into a chilled bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls on the surface. Top immediately with your healthy granola, fresh fruit, and nut butter. The granola adds the perfect contrast to the creamy base, making every bite satisfying.
