Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup low-fat or full-fat cottage cheese
- 1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla or chocolate whey protein powder
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or water)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional, for extra fiber)
- Stevia or monk fruit sweetener to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and a high-speed blender. Measure out the cottage cheese and almond milk precisely to ensure the consistency remains thick but drinkable. If you are meal-prepping for the week, portion out the dry ingredients (protein powder and chia seeds) into small containers so you can just dump and blend in the morning.
- Add the almond milk to the blender first to prevent the powder from sticking to the bottom. Follow with the cottage cheese, protein powder, vanilla extract, and ice. Pulse the blender a few times to break up the ice, then blend on high for 45 to 60 seconds. You want to ensure the cottage cheese is completely pulverized to achieve that signature smooth, cheesecake-like texture.
- Pour the shake into a large chilled glass or a portable shaker bottle if you are heading out the door. If you want to get fancy, top it with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few fresh berries. Drink immediately while cold for the best experience. If the shake is too thick, add a splash more almond milk and pulse again until it reaches your desired consistency.
