Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or coconut milk)
- 1/4 cup frozen strawberries or blackberries
- 1/2 medium avocado
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 cup fresh baby spinach
- 1 tablespoon erythritol or liquid stevia (optional)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and ensure your liquid base is cold. Measure out the frozen berries and the avocado. If you are using fresh spinach, give it a quick rinse. Place the liquid almond milk into the blender first; adding liquids first helps the blades move more efficiently and prevents the frozen ingredients from getting stuck at the bottom.
- Add the spinach, avocado, berries, chia seeds, sweetener, and vanilla extract into the blender. Top it off with the ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly and start blending on a low speed. Gradually increase the speed to high and blend for about 45 to 60 seconds. Continue until the mixture looks completely smooth and the chia seeds have integrated into the liquid.
- Turn off the blender and check the consistency. If the smoothie is too thick, add an extra splash of almond milk and pulse again. If you prefer it sweeter, add another drop of stevia. Pour the vibrant green or purple mixture into a tall glass. Serve immediately while it is ice-cold for the best flavor and texture.
