Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15.25 oz) Spice Cake Mix
- 1 can (15 oz) Pure Pumpkin Puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 box (5 count) Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (Vanilla)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter to ensure easy serving. Open your Little Debbie snack cakes and set them aside. Using a sharp knife, chop four of the cakes into bite-sized chunks, saving one whole cake for a decorative center piece if desired.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry spice cake mix and the entire can of pumpkin puree. Stir the two ingredients together using a sturdy spatula until a thick, uniform batter forms. Avoid over-mixing; just ensure no dry pockets of flour remain. Spread this batter evenly into the bottom of your prepared baking dish. Scatter the chopped Little Debbie Christmas Tree cake pieces across the top of the batter, pressing them down slightly so they adhere during the bake.
- Place the dish in the center rack of your oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. You will know it is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the edges are slightly golden. Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. This resting period helps the cake set and makes it easier to serve. For an extra festive touch, serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
