No Eggs Needed High Protein Breakfast Smoothie Bowl 5 Minute Make Ahead Healthy

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian, High Protein

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries)
  • 1/2 frozen banana (sliced before freezing for easier blending)
  • 3/4 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt (or thick plant-based alternative)
  • 1 scoop vanilla or berry flavored whey or plant-based protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice, added gradually)
  • Optional Toppings: Hemp hearts, sliced almonds, fresh kiwi, or a drizzle of almond butter

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preparation: Gather all your ingredients and ensure your fruit is fully frozen; this is key to achieving a thick, scoopable consistency. If you are making this ahead of time, measure out the frozen fruit and protein powder into a freezer-safe bag or container. This way, you only need to dump the contents into the blender and add your liquid and yogurt when you are ready to eat.
  2. Step 2: Blending: Place the frozen berries, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, protein powder, and chia seeds into a high-speed blender. Pour in half of the almond milk. Start the blender on a low speed, using the tamper tool if your blender has one to push the frozen fruit down toward the blades. Gradually increase the speed. If the mixture is too thick and won’t blend, add the remaining almond milk one tablespoon at a time until the mixture is smooth but still very thick.
  3. Step 3: Plating: Pour the thick smoothie mixture into a wide bowl. Use the back of a spoon to smooth out the surface or create a small swirl. Immediately add your favorite toppings. Arrange sliced fruit, nuts, and seeds in neat rows for a beautiful presentation. Serve immediately while it is still ice-cold and firm.
