Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (GF if needed)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/3 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Mix the Dry and Wet Base – Grab a wide-mouth mason jar or a medium-sized bowl. Add the rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir these dry ingredients together first to ensure the protein powder doesn’t clump. Pour in the almond milk, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract. Whisk or stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth and the protein powder fully incorporates into the liquid.
- Step 2: Fold in the Blueberries – Gently fold in half of the blueberries. If you are using frozen berries, they might streak the oats with a beautiful purple color immediately. If using fresh berries, give them a slight press with your spoon to release some of their natural juices. If you prefer a layered look, you can save all the berries for a dedicated layer in the middle or top of the jar.
- Step 3: Set and Chill – Seal the jar with a tight-fitting lid or cover your bowl with plastic wrap. Place the container in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, though overnight (8 hours) is best for the creamiest texture. In the morning, give the oats a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen it up. Top with the remaining blueberries and enjoy cold.
