Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (GF certified if needed)
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (whey or plant-based)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/4 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- A pinch of sea salt
- Fresh berries or dark chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
- Grab a wide-mouth mason jar or a medium-sized breakfast bowl. Add the rolled oats, chocolate protein powder, chia seeds, cocoa powder, and a pinch of sea salt. Use a spoon or a small whisk to mix these dry ingredients thoroughly. Ensuring the protein powder is well-distributed now prevents clumps from forming later once the liquid is added.
- Pour the almond milk, Greek yogurt, and your choice of sweetener into the jar. Stir the mixture vigorously until all the dry patches of oats and protein powder disappear. The consistency should be thick but pourable. If you prefer a thinner texture, add an extra tablespoon of milk at this stage. Screw the lid onto the jar or cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap.
- Place the jar in the refrigerator for at least four hours, though overnight is ideal for the best texture. During this time, the oats and chia seeds will absorb the liquid, creating a thick, pudding-like consistency. In the morning, give the oats a quick stir. Add your “beautiful” toppings like fresh raspberries, a drizzle of peanut butter, or extra chocolate chips just before serving.
