Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/4 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or stevia (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh blueberries or sliced strawberries
- A pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
- Find a glass jar or a small airtight container. Add the rolled oats, chia seeds, and a pinch of cinnamon into the jar. Stir these dry ingredients together briefly to ensure the chia seeds are evenly distributed, which prevents clumping later.
- Pour the almond milk, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract into the jar. If you prefer a bit of sweetness, add your maple syrup or natural sweetener now. Use a spoon to stir everything together vigorously until the yogurt is fully incorporated and no dry pockets of oats remain.
- Seal the jar with a tight-fitting lid. Place the container in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, though overnight is best for the creamiest texture. During this time, the oats and chia seeds soak up the liquid and soften perfectly.
- In the morning, remove the lid and give the oats a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, splash in a little extra milk. Top with your fresh berries and any additional toppings you like. Enjoy your healthy breakfast straight from the jar or transfer it to a bowl.
