Party Punch Eggnog Easy Kids Adults Holiday Cozy Drink

Party Punch Eggnog Easy Kids Adults Holiday Cozy Drink

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 gallon (64 oz) high-quality prepared eggnog, thoroughly chilled
  • 1 liter ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, thoroughly chilled
  • 1 quart vanilla bean ice cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1 cup bourbon, rum, or brandy (for an adult-only version)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Chill Your Glassware and Bowl – For the best experience, place your punch bowl or large pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Cold containers help keep the ice cream from melting too quickly and preserve the carbonation of the soda. Ensure your eggnog and ginger ale are ice-cold before you begin mixing.
  2. Step 2: Combine the Liquid Base – Pour the chilled eggnog into your large punch bowl. If you are making an adult-only version, stir in your choice of bourbon, rum, or brandy now. Slowly pour the ginger ale down the side of the bowl to maintain as much fizz as possible. Give it one or two very gentle stirs with a long spoon to combine the liquids without losing the bubbles.
  3. Step 3: Add the Creamy Scoops – Using an ice cream scoop, place large rounds of vanilla bean ice cream across the surface of the punch. The ice cream will float on top, creating a foamy, delicious layer. As it slightly melts, it adds a velvety texture to the drink that kids and adults will both love.
  4. Step 4: Garnish and Serve – Dust the top of the punch with ground nutmeg and cinnamon. For an extra festive touch, place a few cinnamon sticks in the bowl or provide them in individual glasses. Serve immediately using a ladle, making sure each guest gets a bit of the melted ice cream foam in their cup.
