Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups rolled oats (certified gluten-free if needed)
- 4 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 scoops vanilla or whey protein powder
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Fresh berries, sliced bananas, and nuts for topping
Instructions
- Gather four meal prep containers or mason jars. Distribute the rolled oats, chia seeds, protein powder, and cinnamon evenly among the containers. Use a small whisk or spoon to stir the dry ingredients together, ensuring the protein powder is well-distributed and not clumped at the bottom.
- Pour the almond milk, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and sweetener into each jar. Stir each container vigorously until the mixture is smooth and the oats are fully submerged. Make sure no dry pockets of protein powder remain. The mixture will look liquidy at first, but the oats and chia seeds will absorb the moisture overnight.
- Seal the containers with airtight lids and place them in the refrigerator. Let the bowls sit for at least 4 hours, though overnight is best for the creamiest texture. This resting period allows the chia seeds to swell and the oats to soften perfectly without any cooking required.
- When you are ready to eat, remove a bowl from the fridge and give it a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of extra milk to reach your desired consistency. Top your bowl with fresh berries, nuts, or a drizzle of nut butter for that beautiful, Instagram-worthy finish. Enjoy cold!
