Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats (Gluten-free if preferred)
- 2 scoops Vanilla or Chocolate Whey/Plant-based Protein Powder
- 2 tablespoons Chia Seeds
- 1 cup Non-fat Plain Greek Yogurt
- 2 cups Unsweetened Almond Milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup or Honey (optional)
- 1 cup Fresh Berries (Blueberries, Raspberries, or Strawberries)
- 1/4 cup Sliced Almonds or Walnuts
- 1 tablespoon Hemp Hearts for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, protein powder, and chia seeds. Whisk these dry ingredients together to ensure the protein powder is evenly distributed and no large clumps remain. Add the Greek yogurt, almond milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Stir the mixture vigorously until everything is well combined and the yogurt is fully integrated into the liquid.
- Line up four wide-mouth glass jars or meal prep containers. Divide the oat mixture evenly among the four containers. Use a spoon to smooth the tops. If you like a layered look, add a few berries in the middle of the mixture as you pour. Leave about an inch of space at the top of each jar to allow the oats to expand as they soak up the liquid.
- Seal the containers tightly with their lids. Place the bowls in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, though overnight is ideal. During this time, the chia seeds and oats absorb the milk and yogurt, transforming into a thick, pudding-like consistency. The protein powder flavors will also meld with the oats for a richer taste.
- In the morning, or when you are ready to eat, remove the lid and give the oats a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of extra almond milk. Top each bowl with fresh berries, sliced almonds, and a sprinkle of hemp hearts. This adds a necessary crunch and a burst of freshness to every bite. Enjoy cold straight from the fridge.
