Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries)
- 1 frozen banana, sliced before freezing
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
- Toppings: Fresh sliced kiwi, granola, hemp hearts, and a drizzle of almond butter
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and ensure your fruit is completely frozen. Using frozen fruit is the secret to a thick, ice-cream-like consistency. If you have time, place your serving bowl in the freezer for 5 minutes before starting to keep the smoothie from melting while you add toppings.
- Place the frozen berries, frozen banana slices, chia seeds, and protein powder into a high-speed blender. Pour in the almond milk, starting with just a small amount. Pulse the blender several times to break up the large frozen chunks. Use a tamper to push the ingredients down toward the blades. Blend on low to medium speed until the mixture is smooth and thick. Avoid over-blending, as the heat from the motor can melt the mixture.
- Scoop the thick smoothie mixture into your chilled bowl. Use the back of a spoon to smooth out the surface or create a decorative swirl. Arrange your toppings in neat rows or clusters for that professional look. Start with the granola for crunch, add the fresh kiwi for color, and finish with a generous drizzle of almond butter and a sprinkle of hemp hearts.
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
