Spooky Pizza Dinner Kid Approved Easy Halloween Ghost Pizza

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb store-bought or homemade pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce or pizza sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella (balls or a log)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Optional: Pepperoni slices or green bell peppers for extra decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a large circle or several mini individual circles. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper or a greased baking sheet to make it easier to handle later.
  2. Spread a thin, even layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving about half an inch around the edges for the crust. Brush the exposed edges with olive oil and sprinkle the oregano over the sauce for an extra burst of flavor. This red base serves as the perfect “spooky” backdrop for your white ghosts.
  3. Slice your fresh mozzarella into 1/4 inch thick rounds. If you want a more defined ghost shape, use a small paring knife to pull the bottom of the cheese slice into a wavy “tail” or use a ghost-shaped cookie cutter. Place the cheese slices randomly across the pizza, ensuring they have enough space between them so they don’t melt into one giant blob.
  4. Take your sliced black olives and cut them into tiny pieces to serve as eyes and mouths for your ghosts. Place two tiny olive bits on each mozzarella slice. If you are using pepperoni, you can tuck a few pieces under the “ghosts” or place them around the sauce for added color and flavor.
  5. Slide the pizza into the oven. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is just beginning to melt. Be careful not to overbake, as you want the ghosts to keep their shape rather than melting completely into the sauce. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 2 minutes before slicing.
