Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (21 ounces each) Cherry or Apple Pie Filling
- 1 package (17.5 ounces) Sugar Cookie Mix
- 3/4 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- Optional: Christmas sprinkles or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a little bit of butter. This ensures the fruit filling doesn’t stick to the edges and makes serving much easier later on.
- Pour both cans of pie filling into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread the fruit evenly across the entire surface. If you are using cherry filling, ensure the cherries are distributed so every bite gets some fruit.
- Open the dry sugar cookie mix and sprinkle it evenly over the top of the fruit layer. Do not stir the ingredients together. Use your hands or a spoon to gently break up any large clumps of dry mix so the layer is relatively flat and covers the fruit completely.
- Pour the melted butter slowly and evenly over the top of the dry cookie mix. Try to cover as much of the powder as possible to avoid dry spots. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit filling is bubbling around the edges. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes to set before serving.
- Cook Time: 45 minutes
