Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for dredging
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumbs preferably panko for extra crunch
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese sticks cut into halves or thirds
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder for seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder for seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning for flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for drizzling

Instructions
 

  • Begin by preparing your cheese sticks. Cut the mozzarella cheese into halves or thirds to create stick shapes.
  • Set up a breading station: in one bowl, place the all-purpose flour; in a second bowl, beat the eggs; and in a third bowl, combine the bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dredge each cheese stick in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by coating it thoroughly with the seasoned bread crumbs.
  • Place the breaded cheese sticks on a plate and repeat until all sticks are coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Once preheated, arrange the cheese sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the sticks.
  • Cook the cheese sticks in the air fryer for about 10 minutes, then carefully flip them and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the cheese sticks from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute before serving with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can freeze the breaded cheese sticks for about 30 minutes before air frying. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
