Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings drumettes and flats mixed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for coating the wings
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder for flavor
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  • Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Cook the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness.
  • Once cooked, check the internal temperature of the wings to ensure they have reached at least 165°F (74°C).

Notes

For extra crispiness, you can spray the wings lightly with cooking spray before air frying. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 5-7 minutes to maintain crispiness.
