Ingredients

2 cans of refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (each containing 8 rolls)

3 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, walnuts, and raisins. Toss until the apples are well coated.

Slice the Cinnamon Rolls: Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing for later. Cut each roll into quarters and place them in a large bowl.

Mix with Apples: Gently fold the apple mixture into the bowl with the quartered cinnamon rolls, ensuring the pieces are evenly distributed.

Add Maple Syrup and Butter: Drizzle the melted butter and maple syrup over the mixture and toss lightly to coat everything evenly.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the apple and cinnamon roll mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

Prepare the Icing: While the bake is in the oven, take the reserved icing from the cinnamon rolls and mix it with a couple of tablespoons of milk to achieve a drizzling consistency.

Cool and Drizzle: Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle the icing over the top.

Serve: Cut into squares and serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or extra fruits.
