Ingredients

2 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

½ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 package (12 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (like Grands!)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for topping)

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Caramel sauce (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Apple Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and flour. Toss until the apples are evenly coated and set the mixture aside for a few minutes.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough: Open the package of biscuit dough and separate the individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit slightly with your hands or a rolling pin to create a wider surface.

Assemble the Bombs: Spoon a tablespoon of the apple filling into the center of each flattened biscuit. Carefully fold the edges of the biscuit over the filling, pinching to seal it completely. Gently reshape it into a ball if necessary. Repeat with all biscuits.

Egg Wash and Topping: Place the apple pie bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each bomb with the beaten egg for a golden finish. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar with ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle it over the bombs.

Bake the Bombs: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are puffed up and golden brown.

Drizzle with Caramel: Once baked, remove the bombs from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired for extra sweetness.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve your Apple Pie Bombs warm, and enjoy the gooey apple filling with a crisp outer layer!
