Ingredients

2 slices of sourdough bread

1 ripe avocado

2 slices of sharp cheddar cheese

1 slice of fresh mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon of unsalted butter

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Avocado Spread: In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork. Mix in fresh lemon juice, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Assemble the Sandwich: Spread a generous layer of the avocado mixture on one slice of sourdough bread. Layer the sharp cheddar cheese and the mozzarella cheese on top of the avocado spread. Top with the second slice of sourdough bread.

Butter and Season: Spread the outside of the sandwich with unsalted butter. Sprinkle a little extra garlic powder and Italian seasoning on the buttered sides for added flavor.

Grill the Sandwich: Preheat a skillet or pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the sandwich to the pan. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on one side, or until golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and grill for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is also golden and the cheese is melted.

Serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before cutting it in half. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy, cheesy goodness!
