Ingredients

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pickled jalapeños, finely chopped

1/4 cup green onions, sliced

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

Salt and pepper, to taste

Oil for frying

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, pickled jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the cheese balls on a tray and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm them up.

Set up a breading station: In one bowl, place the flour; in the second bowl, beat the eggs; and in the third bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs.

Take each cheese ball from the refrigerator and roll it in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the panko breadcrumbs. Make sure each ball is fully covered.

Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Carefully drop the cheese balls into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve warm as an appetizer with a side of ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
