12 mozzarella sticks

12 slices of bacon

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking spray or oil for frying

Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if you're baking the sticks or preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot for frying.

    Prepare Mozzarella Sticks: Optionally, freeze mozzarella sticks for about 30 minutes to prevent them from melting too quickly during cooking.

      Bacon Wrapping: Cut each bacon slice in half. Take a mozzarella stick and wrap a half slice of bacon around it tightly. Secure the ends with toothpicks if necessary. Repeat with all mozzarella sticks.

        Breading Station: In three separate bowls, place flour in the first bowl, whisked eggs in the second bowl, and combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in the third bowl.

          Coat the Sticks: Dip each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick first into the flour, coating it completely. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the seasoned breadcrumbs until well coated.

            Cooking Method:

              - Baking: Place the breaded sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray them with cooking spray. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.

                - Frying: Alternatively, fry the sticks in heated oil for about 2-4 minutes or until the bacon is crisp and golden brown.

                  Draining: Remove the sticks from the oven or oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease.

                    Serving: Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping and enjoy your crispy treat!
