Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries for making the syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for the blueberry syrup
  • 1 cup carbonated water or club soda
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream for sweet cream topping
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk for added sweetness in cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavoring the cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice to enhance blueberry flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt to balance sweetness

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the fresh blueberries and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the blueberries break down and release their juices, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Once the blueberry mixture is thickened, remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve to separate the syrup from the solids. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt until well combined and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • In four glasses, add 2 tablespoons of the cooled blueberry syrup to each glass. Pour in the carbonated water, stirring gently to combine.
  • Top each glass with the sweet cream mixture, allowing it to float on top of the soda. Drizzle a little more blueberry syrup over the cream for garnish.
  • Serve immediately with a straw, and enjoy the refreshing layers of flavor in your Blueberry Dirty Soda.

Notes

Tip 1: Use fresh blueberries for the best flavor in the syrup.
Tip 2: You can make the blueberry syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Variation: Try substituting raspberries for a different fruity twist.
