Ingredients

2 oz gin (preferably a botanical gin)

1 oz fresh lemon juice

1 oz simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)

1/2 oz blueberry puree (fresh or frozen blueberries blended)

1 egg white (optional for frothiness)

Fresh blueberries and a lemon wheel for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

Make the Blueberry Puree: If using fresh blueberries, blend them until smooth. If using frozen, thaw them first and then blend. Strain the puree through a sieve to remove the skins for a smoother texture (optional).

Prepare the Cocktail Shaker: In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, blueberry puree, and egg white (if using) for a frothier cocktail.

Dry Shake: First, shake all the ingredients without ice for about 15-20 seconds. This helps to emulsify the egg white, creating a nice froth.

Wet Shake: Add ice cubes to the shaker and then shake vigorously for an additional 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Strain: Fine strain the mixture into a chilled coupe or rocks glass to ensure a smooth drink without any bits of ice.

Garnish: Drop a few fresh blueberries into the drink and add a lemon wheel on the rim for a beautiful presentation.

Serve: Enjoy your refreshing Blueberry Gin Sour responsibly!
