Ingredients

4 medium-sized limes

1 cup of granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups of cold water

1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk (optional for creaminess)

Ice cubes

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Begin by thoroughly washing the limes under running water to remove any wax or pesticides.

Cut the limes into quarters, leaving the peel on. This helps to infuse the lemonade with zest and flavor.

In a blender, combine the quartered limes, sugar, and 2 cups of cold water. Blend on high for about 30 seconds, until well combined.

Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the mixture into a large pitcher to remove the pulp and rinds. Press the mixture with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.

Discard the solids left in the strainer. Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir to combine.

If you want a creamier texture and sweeter flavor, mix in the sweetened condensed milk at this stage. Stir until fully incorporated.

Serve the Brazilian lemonade over ice cubes in tall glasses, and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
