Ingredients

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1/4 cup milk (more if needed)

Chopped fresh herbs (like chives or parsley) for garnish

Optional: dipping sauces (sour cream, marinara, or ranch)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, flour, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to ensure all the dry ingredients and cheeses are evenly mixed.

Add Butter: Add the cubed cold butter to the bowl. Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, work the butter into the cheese and flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Incorporate Milk: Slowly add the milk, mixing until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add more milk, one tablespoon at a time, until it holds together without being sticky.

Shape the Bites: Scoop out tablespoon-sized pieces of the dough and roll them into balls. Alternatively, you can flatten them into bite-sized discs if you prefer. Place the formed cheesy bites onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the cheesy bites from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs for an optional pop of color and flavor. Serve them warm alongside your choice of dipping sauces.
