Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 bell pepper (any color), sliced into strips

1 large onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)

Cooked white rice or noodles, for serving

Green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with cornstarch, soy sauce, and a splash of sesame oil. Toss to coat well and let marinate for about 15 minutes.

Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce: In another bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and sear until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and toss in the sliced onion and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Return the seared steak to the skillet. Pour the prepared stir-fry sauce over the meat and vegetables. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat everything evenly.

Serve: Serve the pepper steak hot over cooked white rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.
