Ingredients

4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ cup brown sugar

1 can (12 oz) cinnamon rolls (with icing)

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup rolled oats

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Prepare the Apples: In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Ensure the apples are well coated and set aside for about 10 minutes to allow them to release some juices.

Make the Cobbler Topping: In another bowl, mix the flour, oats, melted butter, and vanilla extract until crumbly. If you are using nuts, fold them in at this stage.

Assemble the Cobbler: Spread the apple mixture evenly in the greased baking dish. Crumble the topping mixture over the apples, ensuring an even distribution.

Cinnamon Roll Addition: Open the can of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters. Scatter the pieces evenly over the cobbler topping.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the cinnamon roll pieces are golden brown.

Glaze it Up: Once out of the oven, drizzle the icing from the cinnamon roll can over the cobbler while it’s still warm for an extra sweet touch.

Serve: Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Scoop out portions and serve warm with whipped cream or a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
