Ingredients

6 large cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)

4 large eggs

1 cup milk (whole or any plant-based alternative)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

A pinch of salt

2 tablespoons butter (for frying)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: If using store-bought cinnamon rolls, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake them for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are just firm but not fully cooked. Allow them to cool slightly, then cut each roll into quarters.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and a pinch of salt until thoroughly combined and frothy.

Coat the Cinnamon Roll Bites: Gently dip each quarter of the cinnamon roll into the custard mixture, ensuring they are well-coated but not overly soggy. Allow any excess custard to drip off.

Fry the Bites: In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat until melted and bubbly. Add the coated cinnamon roll bites to the skillet in batches, being careful not to overcrowd. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once cooked, transfer the bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup and dusted with powdered sugar if desired.

Enjoy: These bites are best enjoyed fresh and warm! Pair them with fresh fruits or a dollop of whipped cream for extra delight.
