Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup warm milk (110°F or 45°C)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant dry yeast

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp salt

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

1/4 cup butter (melted, for coating)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and the yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined. Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing to form a soft dough.

Knead the Dough: Once the dough has come together, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour as needed.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Shape the Bread: After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle (about 12x18 inches). Brush the surface with some melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture (1/2 cup sugar mixed with 2 tsp cinnamon).

Roll and Slice: Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

Second Rise: Place the dough slices in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan, standing them upright. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough is rising.

Bake the Bread: Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Coat with Butter and Sugar: Once out of the oven, immediately brush the top with melted butter, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar over the top while it’s still warm.

Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature!
