Ingredients

4 cups oyster crackers

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts)

1/2 cup sweetened dried fruit (like cranberries or raisins)

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Coating: In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to ensure there are no clumps.

Prepare the Crackers: In a separate large mixing bowl, pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Add the oyster crackers and gently toss them to coat evenly.

Combine Ingredients: Gradually sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered crackers, tossing as you go until all crackers are evenly coated.

Add Nuts and Fruit: Fold in the chopped nuts and dried fruit into the bowl with the coated crackers, making sure they are well distributed. If you like a sweet touch, add the mini chocolate chips at this stage.

Bake: Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even toasting. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

Cool and Serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the mix to cool completely. Break apart any large clumps and store in an airtight container.
