Ingredients
  

1 cup fresh orange juice (about 3 oranges)

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon orange zest

4 large egg yolks

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh orange juice, lemon juice, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved, stirring occasionally.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks until they are light and frothy. Gradually pour in the warm citrus juice mixture into the egg yolks while whisking continuously to temper the eggs and prevent curdling.

      Once combined, return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 7-10 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest, orange zest, and vanilla extract.

        Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes before transferring it to the refrigerator. Chill for at least 2 hours or until set.

          Once chilled, in a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chilled citrus mixture until well combined and smooth.

            Serve the Zesty Citrus Delight in individual dessert cups. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and an extra touch of freshness.
