Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup banana liqueur

1/4 cup dark rum

1/4 cup vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Once melted, add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring gently until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is bubbly.

Carefully place the sliced bananas in the skillet, cooking for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are caramelized and tender.

Remove the skillet from the heat, then carefully add the banana liqueur and dark rum.

Flambé Option: If you prefer to flambé, return to the heat and ignite the rum with a long lighter, allowing the flames to subside naturally. (Be cautious and ensure no flammable items are nearby.)

Once the flames have gone out, remove the skillet from the heat and let cool slightly.

To serve, place a few slices of bananas in a bowl or plate, spoon the warm sauce over the top, and add a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Garnish with chopped walnuts or pecans if desired.
