Ingredients

For the Cheesecake Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup crushed Oreos (plus extra for garnish)

For the Deep Fried Batter:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

Oil for frying

For Garnish:

Powdered sugar for dusting

Chocolate syrup

Additional crushed Oreos

Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy. Fold in the crushed Oreos.

Create the Oreo Balls: Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, form tablespoon-sized balls of the cheesecake filling. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes until firm.

Make the Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Heat the Oil: In a deep pan or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). You need enough oil to allow the deep-fried Oreos to float.

Coat and Fry: Once the cheesecake balls are firm, dip each ball into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated. Carefully lower the battered ball into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding.

Fry Until Golden: Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve: Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and sprinkle with extra crushed Oreos before serving warm.
