Cottage cheese has long been celebrated as a health food, and for good reason. This creamy dairy product is rich in protein, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to build muscle, manage weight, or simply maintain a balanced diet. A one-cup serving of low-fat cottage cheese typically boasts around 28 grams of protein, which is significantly higher than many other snack options. This high protein content can help keep you fuller for longer, reducing the likelihood of unhealthy snacking later in the day.

Ingredients

2 cups of low-fat cottage cheese

1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup of almond flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and almond flour. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. You should achieve a thick, spreadable consistency.

Season the Mixture: Add the garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Mix again until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Shape the Chips: Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each mound gently with the back of the spoon or a spatula to create thin circles (roughly 1/4 inch thick) that resemble chips.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges become golden brown and the centers are firm. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning.

Cool and Crisp: Once baked, remove the chips from the oven and allow them to cool for about 5 minutes on the sheet. Gently transfer them to a wire rack to continue cooling. They will crisp up as they cool.

Store and Serve: Enjoy your cottage cheese chips immediately, or store them in an airtight container for up to a week. These chips make a great snack on their own or can be paired with dips like guacamole or salsa for extra flavor!
