Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/2 cup onions, finely chopped

1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 cup milk

1/4 cup ketchup (+ extra for topping)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onions, and green bell pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, thyme, and oregano until well mixed.

Pour the wet mixture into the meat mixture and combine until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.

Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.

Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf for added flavor and moisture.

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 60-75 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Once cooked, allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
